IF you own a Honda you probably know how much it can cost if you lose your only key. They have a Honda immobilizer system installed from when the car was manufactured in Japan

Because of this, it is a must to have a spare Honda key available at all times either hidden in the car or put in a safe place that you can access. Late model Honda keys are not the usual Honda key and have a chip in the head that gives the Honda computer the signal that it needs to run.

Sometimes if you lose your only Honda key you can get a Honda technician to program another two Honda keys into the cars computer. This comes at a high price for this particular make and can take about 2 weeks.

The best advise is to have a spare Honda key duplicated by us or your Honda service centre.
